Sony & AVC Zagreb at the ZagrebDox 2009
ZagrebDox, the biggest documentary film festival in the region, took place from 23 February to 1 March 2009 in Zagreb's Student Center. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the film festival offered six programs with as many as around 150 documentaries from all over the world. Nenad Puhovski, Festival Director and Program Selector said that the quality of this year's ZagrebDox program was extreme high.
During seven festival days in the Zagreb Student Centre (attended by more than 21,000 viewers), AVC Zagreb and Sony presented Sony's latest HDV camcorders to the Croatian market: the HVR-Z5 and the PMW-EX3.
The
SONY/AVC presentation stand attracted a number of interested buyers who
visited this documentary film festival (cameramen, filmmakers,
photo-digital studio owners and other professionals).
The HVR-Z5 was
an absolute sensation! Visitors were fascinated with Sony's newly
designed G Lens, with 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor systems and other Z5
performances.
The Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić officially opened the festival and explained that the fact that more than 50,000 viewers had seen ZagrebDox films in the past 4 years has exceeded all expectations. „Zagreb's international film festivals not only contribute to the city's cultural offer, they also put Zagreb on the map as an important cultural center and are, therefore, a part of its cultural strategy“, said Duško Ljuština, Member of the City Government in charge for Education, Culture and Sports.
The headquarters of European Documentary Network (EDN) – the umbrella association of all European documentarists awarded ZagrebDox and Nenad Puhovski as this year’s winner of their annual award for outstanding contribution to the development of European documentary culture.
