Audio Recording in Courts
AVC Ljubljana and contracting company TSE Ljubljana have completed one of the largest-ever projects based on an integrated Harman Pro solution and FTR Gold suite of products. The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Slovenia recently commissioned a system of digital recording solutions for Slovenia’s 352 courtroom network.

AVC’s experienced Jani Medic led the team that designed and TSE's experienced Primoz Skocir project managed the complex fit-out. AVC needed to meet the customer’s main objective of supplying up to eight channels of digital audio recording for court hearings across the 352 courtrooms spread cross Slovenia, fully backed up. These recordings needed to be shared between all interested parties (judges, lawyers, transcription services), with security and usage tracking possibilities, and finally archiving.
For all these requirements AVC used a dedicated software solution developed by FTR Australia. FTR ReporterTM and FTR Mixer were the key products from the FTR Gold family of digital recording and content management solutions for judicial and public safety venues. In addition, the courts also leased copies of TheRecord Manager and FTR Monitor software solutions to facilitate superior management of their digital recordings.
At the heart of the entire system is the BSS Soundweb London digital solution. The entire analogue audio chain is processed by Harman products, which includes over 2.300 AKG goosenecks mics, 1.500 AKG headphones, over 350 BSS BLU-100 processors and over 200 BLU-BOB2 output expanders, over 250 dbx AFS 224 Advanced Feedback Suppression processors, over 250 Crown XLS 202D amplifiers, over 550 JBL CBT 50LA and 100 pairs of JBL C2PS loudspeakers. Each system in the courtroom is on a stand-alone system — only the multi-channel recordings are shared over the Government wide broadband network.
Project “Audio Recording in Courts” is part of E-justice projects in Slovenia, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund
