Multimedia lecture room

The National Institute of Chemistry is an internationally recognized research organization in the field of chemistry and its related disciplines. It was established in 1946 as the Chemistry Laboratory of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences. Today, it is a public research institution for scientific research and development activities.
The National Institute of Chemistry has 210 employees, of which around 180 carry out research work in 14 laboratories and two infrastructure centers; 95 of these have doctorates of science degrees.

Basic and applied research are oriented towards fields which are of long-term importance to both Slovenia and the world: biotechnology, environmental protection, structural and theoretical chemistry, analytical chemistry, materials research, and chemical engineering, through which the Institute is in line with the needs of the domestic chemical, pharmaceutical, tire, and food industries. The work of the Institute is also in line with the priorities of the 6th Framework Program of the EU, which places an emphasis on genomics and biotechnology for health, nanotechnology, quality and safety of food, as well as nutrition, sustainable development, and global change.

Scientific project presentations and lectures include various graphic and sound materials. The Ljubljana Institute of Chemistry’s lecture hall is equipped with an advanced, automatic multimedia system that has excellent quality and is simple to use. It comprises of a JBL sound system, a system of three projection screens with electromotor functionality and AKG automatic audio mixers. All the devices are connected with a central control system.
